Job Description
This job opportunity is offered at a McDonald's restaurant that is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, separate from McDonald's USA. The franchisee has a license to use McDonald's logos and food products, which allows them to operate the restaurant in line with McDonald's standards. However, it is important to note that all employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling are handled solely by the franchisee, not McDonald's USA. This means the franchisee is your direct employer and responsible for all aspects of your employment.
McDonald's is globally known as a fast-food restaurant chain that serves millions of customers every day. The restaurant environment is fast-paced and requires dedication, teamwork, and a passion for delivering great customer service. Working in this setting provides an opportunity to gain valuable skills that can help build a rewarding career in hospitality, retail, or management.
The available role is for a Department Manager who will lead shifts and potentially manage specific departments within the restaurant. Department Managers play a critical role in ensuring customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service on every visit. Managers can lead different areas such as guest service, kitchen operations, or people management, depending on the specific needs of the restaurant. They are responsible for setting goals, delegating tasks, following up on results, and maintaining high standards in their areas of oversight.
The Guest Service Department Manager focuses on providing an excellent customer experience, ensuring that sales promotions are executed effectively, and maintaining an organized service environment at the front counter, McCafé, and drive-thru. The Kitchen Department Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality food quickly, maintaining food safety standards, controlling food costs, and training kitchen staff. The People Department Manager oversees hiring qualified crew members, training, scheduling, and motivating employees while aligning staffing with sales and profit goals.
This role is designed for positive, flexible team players who thrive in a fast-paced setting and enjoy working with energy and purpose. Prior managerial experience, especially in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments, is preferred. The position requires candidates to be at least 18 years old.
At McDonald's, your career can go further than you thought possible. The company offers valuable benefits that support your education, health, and future. These include college tuition assistance, job training, retirement benefits, paid vacation, paid holidays, sabbaticals, and various insurance coverages. The organization deeply values its team members and supports their growth both professionally and personally. Joining the McDonald's team means becoming part of a community that helps you achieve your goals and build a fulfilling career.
