The Shift Manager role at Marco's is vital in maintaining the operational excellence and high standards the brand is known for. This position involves overseeing daily store operations during assigned shifts, supporting and guiding team members, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest service. The Shift Manager is responsible for both leadership and hands-on participation in food preparation and service, demonstrating strong accountability for food safety, cash handling, and overall workplace standards. This role ensures the store remains clean, organized, and efficient while also coaching and developing team members to achieve peak performance. As the dynamic face of the store during shifts, the Shift Manager plays a critical role in leading by example, creating a positive work environment, and sustaining high-performance standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required food handler certifications
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math and computer skills for cash handling and reporting
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or restaurant operations, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and kitchen operations
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math and computer skills for cash handling and reporting

Job Duties

  • Supervise and support store crew across all workstations during shifts
  • Lead crew members and direct shift operations of the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Manager
  • Perform all crew member tasks when needed including makeline, cut table, oven monitoring, packaging, order accuracy, and guest service
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment
  • Monitor product quality and take corrective action when needed
  • Coordinate with drivers and the manager to ensure efficient and timely deliveries
  • Manage cash handling procedures and balance registers accurately
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and guidance to team members to build skills and improve performance
  • Assist with training new team members and setting clear expectations
  • Handle shift-related issues with professionalism and strong problem-solving skills
  • Communicate effectively with team members and guests to ensure smooth operations
  • Multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on guest satisfaction
