Job Description
We are a unique and dedicated Jimmy John's franchisee, distinguished from typical fast food chains by our commitment to quality and exceptional service. Our brand is known for delivering fresh, freaky fast sandwiches, but more importantly, we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive, dynamic, and fun workplace where employees are valued and given the opportunity to grow professionally. Unlike ordinary fast food operations, we embrace a culture that not only emphasizes speed and efficiency but also focuses on the art of great food preparation and customer satisfaction. Joining our team means becoming part of a community that believes in doing food the right way with a fresh mindset and a focus on excellence.
We are currently searching for a Person in Charge to join our team. This pivotal role requires a dedicated individual ready to lead restaurant operations during assigned shifts when management is not present. As a Person in Charge, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the store by overseeing staff, managing inventory, and maintaining high standards of food preparation and service. With a competitive pay range of $13.65 to $17.29 per hour plus tips, compensation is dependent on experience. This full-time opportunity offers a variety of benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, an employee meal program, and numerous career advancement opportunities.
In this role, you’ll supervise a team of approximately 3 to 15 employees, ensuring they work together effectively during your shift. You will delegate responsibilities such as ordering, receiving, and storing food and supplies to minimize waste and theft. Additionally, your leadership will be vital during peak periods as you assist team members to maintain efficiency. The position requires hands-on involvement in daily tasks, such as food preparation that includes slicing meats and vegetables and ensuring proper portioning and product rotation. You will also assist with paperwork, preventive maintenance, and help keep our location in top operational condition. This comprehensive role combines leadership with active participation, providing an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy a fast-paced environment and want to build a long-term career in the food service industry.
Our work environment demands physical stamina, as you will be required to stand, walk, use your hands, and lift up to 50 pounds. Safety is paramount, and reasonable accommodations will be made to ensure all employees can meet the essential functions of their role. This position is not just another job; it is an entry point into an expanding organization where career development is encouraged. Through mentorship programs and support from supervisors and the HR department, you will be guided to build your skills and take on more significant responsibilities. Many of our leaders have grown up within our company and moved into roles such as Area Manager or Director of Operations. If you are ambitious and ready to prove what you are capable of, this Person in Charge position is a perfect launchpad to advance in the restaurant industry and beyond.
