The role of Shift Leader / On Duty Manager (ODM) at Tiff's Treats presents a unique and rewarding opportunity to lead the team and maintain smooth store operations during shifts when salaried managers are absent. This part-time, hourly position offers flexible scheduling with shifts ranging between 7 AM and 11 PM, including days, nights, and weekends, emphasizing coverages for closing shifts and busy weekend periods. As an ODM, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, managing a team of 3-6 employees, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and a delightful customer experience. This leadership role involves coaching, training, and performance management, fostering a productive and positive atmosphere, setting the tone with a can-do attitude, and driving operational efficiency.

In addition to on-duty managerial responsibilities, the role includes working as a Kitchen Team Member during non-ODM shifts, where the candidate contributes directly to the preparation and baking of treats according to company standards. Job Requirements

  • Must be willing to work both delivery driver and kitchen shifts as needed throughout the week
  • Must be available to work on busiest days of the year including Bosses' Day, Admin Pro Day, and Valentine's Day
  • Ability to lift, carry, and grasp up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk constantly with limited breaks
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs while carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform tasks including stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, twist, and reach items up to 50 lbs
  • Must manage multiple tasks effectively and safely as lone worker in the store
  • Ability to execute all cleaning procedures for commercial kitchen environment
  • Ability to follow visual, audible, written, and verbal instructions in a loud and busy kitchen environment
  • Ability to clearly hear and speak over the telephone
  • Ability to perform computer work in a stationary position for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of leadership and/or management experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including day, night, weekend, and peak business days
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in food service or retail is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team

Job Duties

  • Serve as the manager on duty in the absence of salaried managers, leading the team and ensuring smooth store operations
  • Oversee, train, and evaluate the work of 3-6 employees per shift, fostering a productive and positive work environment
  • Manage daily operations, including product preparation, sales, inventory, and service to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Execute opening and closing procedures, complete daily paperwork, and conduct inventory checks to maintain accuracy
  • Optimize delivery efficiency by routing orders to maximize speed and delivery business
  • Maintain a positive, can-do attitude, setting the tone for the team and leading by example in every role
  • Assist with front-of-house tasks, including greeting customers, taking orders, handling transactions, and ensuring order accuracy
