The Shift Leader role is a critical position within the restaurant's management team, operating under the supervision of the General Manager and Assistant Managers. This role entails planning, directing, and coordinating the restaurant's daily operations alongside the team members working on-site. The Shift Leader ensures that each operating day flows smoothly by overseeing food preparation, safety practices, customer interactions, and employee training. The Shift Leader serves as a role model to all team members, setting high standards for operational procedures and customer service quality. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in restaurant operations
  • knowledge of safe food handling procedures
  • ability to stand and walk for 100 percent of shift
  • ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs
  • ability to work in hot and damp environments
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to use kitchen tools and equipment safely

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in restaurant operations or management preferred
  • strong leadership and team-building skills

  • knowledge of food safety standards and sanitary regulations
  • ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • basic math and cash handling skills

Job Duties

  • Support all restaurant operations and conditions to ensure the quality of the product and customer service
  • role model and hold team members accountable to operational and quality standards
  • assign duties and responsibilities to team members based upon work requirements
  • understand and practice safe food handling procedures to always ensure compliance with local health standards and Steritech readiness
  • administer kitchen set up by creating prep sheets and station and cleaning duties
  • foster open communication between team members and management
  • interview job candidates and oversee training of hourly team members
  • train, retain, and develop team members to take on larger roles
  • communicate with team members, guests, vendors and Hielan personnel for various needs
  • follow operational systems, such as manager timeline and performing quality line checks
  • assist management in monitoring food and beverage preparation, receiving and storage
  • attend manager and certified trainer meetings
  • drive business results by utilizing Chili's systems to effectively control costs
  • drive guest engagement within the four walls of the restaurant and rectify guest complaints
  • perform basic register functions including voids, comps, discounts, and other table maintenance
  • when needed, may perform the duties of a food server, expediter, line cook, busser, or food runner
