The Shift Leader at Caribou Coffee plays a pivotal role in the operational success and atmosphere of the store, working in partnership with the General Manager or Assistant General Manager. This leadership position is responsible for guiding the team during shifts, ensuring that all members are aligned with the store's goals, expectations, and standards. The Shift Leader must demonstrate expertise in daily operations, inspire enthusiasm and excellence among team members, and create an environment where both employees and guests feel valued and engaged. The role requires strategic thinking to maximize product sales, manage waste effectively, and uphold the store's visual appeal and cleanliness.

A successful Shift Leader actively communicates and delegates tasks to ensure smooth operations throughout the shift and transitions seamlessly to the next team. This position also involves coaching and training team members to enhance their product knowledge, role responsibilities, and professional growth while maintaining adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP) and quality standards. Administrative duties such as bank deposits, inventory management, and product orders are also part of the role, demanding integrity and attention to detail.

Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail or customer service experience required, or properly trained and approved by caribou coffee to take responsibility as a shift leader
  • ability to work at least one of the following: early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends
