The Shift Leader position at Habit Burger & Grill is crafted for motivated leaders ready to take on responsibility and inspire a dynamic team. As a Shift Leader, you will act as a key player ensuring smooth front-of-house and back-of-house operations during your shift. This includes greeting guests warmly, helping resolve their concerns promptly, and upholding the brand’s commitment to a superior dining experience. You will also play a crucial role in recruiting, training, and coaching staff members, reinforcing Habit Burger’s culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Working closely with management, you will help manage labor and food costs, meet sales targets, and enforce health and safety protocols to maintain a safe, efficient, and profitable operation.

This role demands a mix of leadership, operational savvy, and a passion for hospitality. You will be expected to supervise shifts, ensure restaurant cleanliness and organization, assist in opening and closing procedures, and handle cash deposits and reconciliations. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule based on restaurant needs
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and training
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds, but have the ability to lift up to 55 pounds
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • This position will involve some repetitive motion tasks
  • This position requires manual dexterity

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year of experience in related food service management position preferred, or 2 years of experience in other food service position
  • Food Manager Certification and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required
  • Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in a restaurant
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and professionalism
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Customer service focused and oriented
  • Read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic math skills and computer competency

Job Duties

  • Greet and interact with guests in a polite and friendly manner
  • Handle guests' requests and complaints
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring of FOH staff
  • Train and develop FOH staff, ensuring they meet customer service standards
  • Ensure team members comply with all established standards, including personal safety, food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform
  • Oversee daily operations of a restaurant shift
  • Increase sales by ensuring guest satisfaction and prompt problem resolution
