The role of Shift Lead at Flynn Fitness is critical to maintaining these high standards and the positive culture within the club. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Shift Lead supervises team members during their shifts, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely while upholding the organization's standards for performance, quality, and customer satisfaction. This position demands strong leadership skills, the ability to organize and motivate a team, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service.
The Shift Lead plays a vital role in managing the team dynamic, ensuring a high-energy atmosphere that aligns with the Judgement Free Zone philosophy. Responsibilities include organizing shift schedules, monitoring attendance and punctuality, delegating tasks appropriately, and providing real-time feedback and coaching to improve team performance. Additionally, Shift Leads are tasked with training new and existing employees, handling customer concerns diplomatically, and maintaining compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.
Beyond leadership and management duties, the Shift Lead ensures the physical upkeep of the facility, contributing to a clean and well-maintained environment that members expect. Maintaining integrity and confidentiality regarding member information is also a fundamental aspect of the role. The position requires physical stamina, including standing for long periods, walking frequently throughout the facility, occasional lifting of items up to 75 pounds, and performing tasks that involve bending, reaching, and kneeling.
