Salt & Straw is a pioneering ice cream company well-known for its commitment to innovation, community, and delivering extraordinary guest experiences. Established with humble beginnings, Salt & Straw has grown into a beloved establishment in its community, setting itself apart with an ever-evolving menu that includes classic favorites as well as new and exciting flavors. The company’s approach uses ice cream as a platform to inspire and connect people, creating memories and moments of joy in every interaction. Salt & Straw is more than just an ice cream shop; it is a place where stories are shared, smiles are exchanged, and people come together to celebrate the art of ice cream making and human connection.

The Shift Coordinator position at Salt & Straw plays an integral role in upholding the company’s high standards of legendary hospitality and operational excellence. This role demands a skilled individual who can guide and support the team members, known as Scoopers, during shifts, ensuring smooth daily operations and providing coaching and training in real time. The Shift Coordinator is responsible for delegating tasks, managing break schedules and station rotations, and promoting a positive work environment that reflects Salt & Straw’s core values of creativity, generosity, thoughtful curiosity, kindness, and making every moment count. Key responsibilities include managing daily shop flow, coordinating opening and closing tasks, maintaining product quality and food safety standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety protocols. The role also involves inventory management and cash handling, along with fostering open communication and motivating team members towards both personal and professional growth. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences and possess excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Salt & Straw offers flexible scheduling options and supports work-life balance, recognizing the importance of mental health and wellness, financial flexibility through earned wages access and 401(k) matching, and opportunities for educational assistance and career development. Additionally, the company fosters an inclusive culture where every team member is valued. This position requires individuals to be at least 18 years old, have prior experience in food service or hospitality, and hold a valid food handler's card within 30 days of employment. The company also emphasizes its commitment to equal employment opportunity, non-discrimination, and accommodations for individuals with disabilities. This role is ideal for those who seek not only to work in a dynamic and enjoyable environment but also wish to contribute to a community-focused brand that revolutionizes the ice cream experience through innovation and human kindness.
