INEOS Styrolution and Aromatics are two leading companies within the chemical manufacturing industry, operating as part of the globally renowned INEOS Group Limited. INEOS Styrolution is recognized as the world’s foremost supplier of styrenics with a portfolio that includes styrene monomer, polystyrene, ABS, and advanced styrenic products. With over 90 years of materials science innovation, the company commits to providing differentiated solutions that offer competitive advantages to customers across diverse sectors such as automotive, electronics, household products, construction, healthcare, packaging, and toys/sports industries. INEOS Styrolution operates 17 production sites across nine countries and employs approximately 3,000 people, generating sales of 4.5 billion euros in 2023. The company also prioritizes sustainability by investing in technologies aimed at closed-loop recyclability for styrenics and reducing carbon emissions.
INEOS Aromatics is a global chemical manufacturer specializing in products used by the polyester industry to produce everyday items like clothing, carpets, furniture, automotive parts, and food packaging. With around 1,300 employees at sites in the United States, United Kingdom, Mainland China, Belgium, Indonesia, and Taiwan, the company achieves annual sales of around 4 billion dollars. As a division of the larger INEOS group, established in 1998, INEOS Aromatics benefits from being part of one of the most successful chemical companies globally, boasting over 25,000 employees and revenues exceeding 60 billion dollars. Safety is a core value for INEOS, making it one of the safest manufacturing companies worldwide.
This current opportunity is for an experienced SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) Manager at the integrated Texas City site in Texas, where both INEOS Styrolution and Aromatics operate. The SHE Manager plays a critical leadership role responsible for directing all Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality (HSS&E/Q) activities at this integrated manufacturing plant. Reporting directly to the Site Director and participating in the Site Leadership Team, the manager will ensure that the site meets corporate standards and complies fully with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
The position demands a strategic thinker with the ability to balance operational priorities with rigorous safety, environmental, and quality objectives. Responsibilities include providing subject-matter expertise, strategic direction, and oversight for a variety of corporate and regulatory programs. The role encompasses the management of risk through process safety management programs, regulatory compliance, auditing, reporting, and emergency response readiness. The SHE Manager also leads the development of safety and environmental systems, including health/medical services, ISO certifications, and quality management.
Additionally, the role involves mentoring and developing the SHE team and contractors, ensuring workforce competence, and fostering relationships with community groups, industry bodies, regulators, and emergency planning authorities. This position offers a unique chance to influence safety culture at a major chemical manufacturing facility, with a comprehensive compensation package aligned to experience, geographic location, and internal equity. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with generous company contributions, paid time off, and additional wellness, financial, and lifestyle perks.
INEOS Styrolution and Aromatics are committed to diversity and inclusion, valuing different perspectives and promoting an inclusive workplace culture where every employee feels a sense of belonging and contribution. This role is situated in Texas City, Texas, providing a compelling career opportunity at a world-class integrated chemical manufacturing site with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and sustainable practices.
