Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food and beverage service preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to use POS systems
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food and beverage service preferred
- Knowledge of food and beverage menu and wine pairings
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests and team members
- Familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems such as MICROS
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
Job Duties
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, and product availability
- Ensure tables are set with clean and sparkling tableware
- Greet guests timely with a positive, outgoing welcome
- Ensure knowledge of menu and restaurant promotions and specials, including ingredients and preparation
- Present menu, describe menu items and make personal recommendations in order to create a wonderful dining experience for the guests
- Recommend and pair wine selections
- Serve alcohol/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
- Maintains knowledge of MICROS system and follows procedures for placing orders
- Deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner
- Revisit guest table throughout the meal service to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
- Present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment
- Thank the guest and give a fond farewell
- Maintain cleanliness of work and guest areas by clearing table and trays in restaurant
- Bus tables and set table for next guest party
- Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.
- Follow proper closing procedures, cleaning and stocking work stations, folding napkins and cleaning and setting tables
- Complete end of shift paperwork, get checked out my management
- Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean, safe, and secure environment including
- Safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines
- Follow Hazardous Material Management Program
- Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE)
- Use the Lockout/Tag-out system before performing any maintenance work
- Use correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury
