Job Description
United Site Services (USS) is a recognized industry leader specializing in comprehensive site services that support both construction projects and special events across the United States. With a commitment to excellence, USS offers a full range of services designed to ensure the success of clients by providing top-quality portable restroom solutions, sanitation, and waste management services. The company is positioned uniquely through its commitment to partnerships, backed by deep industry knowledge, rigorous process management, and strong corporate responsibility programs. These pillars enable USS to deliver efficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible services that meet and exceed customer expectations.
USS prides itself on a diverse and dedicated workforce, including field technicians, customer care representatives, sales professionals, and functional experts, all playing an integral role in delivering a seamless, dependable customer experience. As a workplace, USS is characterized by a culture that values continuous improvement, strong teamwork, and absolute excellence in every business aspect, inviting employees to contribute to both their own success and the company’s growth.
The Service Technician role at USS is a critical position that operates a company service truck to provide essential servicing, pumping, and cleaning of portable restrooms and holding tanks at various locations. This position embodies the core of USS's operations, ensuring clean and well-maintained facilities for clients who rely on USS’s services for construction sites, outdoor events, and more. Operating safely within DOT and company regulations, the Service Technician performs physically demanding tasks — including lifting, pushing, and maneuvering heavy equipment — while also ensuring meticulous adherence to USS’s 8-point service standards.
Beyond the operational responsibilities, Service Technicians engage directly with customers on-site, delivering high-quality customer service and fostering strong customer relationships through responsive and flexible service delivery. The role requires adaptability to shifting routes and schedules to meet customer needs effectively. Collaboration with Operations Managers, Supervisors, and Coordinators is also crucial as Service Technicians provide real-time route feedback to enhance operational efficiency and optimize customer service outcomes.
Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of two years of commercial driving experience, a valid driver's license (either CDL or non-commercial), and strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. The position involves a mix of seated driving and active physical labor, including standing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting objects up to 150 lbs frequently during a work shift. Physical stamina and attention to detail are vital.
Full-time employment at USS includes a competitive salary range of $19.49 to $26.32 per hour, depending on factors such as geographic location, skills, experience, and certifications. USS also offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees working 30 hours or more weekly — including health, dental, vision insurance options, paid time off, employer-paid disability and life insurance coverage, various flexible spending accounts, and a 401(k) plan with employer match, among other benefits.
At USS, equal opportunity employment is a fundamental policy, embracing diversity and prohibiting discrimination based on a range of protected statuses such as race, gender, age, disability, and veteran status, among others. The company also adheres to all regulatory requirements related to secure site access and employment eligibility, emphasizing fairness and respect in the workplace. Joining USS means becoming part of a team dedicated to supporting customers through unmatched service quality and a shared commitment to operational excellence.
