Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Report customer suggestions, comments, and complaints to deli management
  • Greet and assist customers in a prompt, friendly, courteous manner
  • Offer tastes, samples, suggestions for purchase and ways to prepare products
  • Ensure organic integrity by following established recipes and procedures
  • Prepare deli items following prescribed specifications
  • Prepare high quality hot and cold espresso drinks, smoothies, vegetable and fruit juices and tea for customers
  • Check-in bakery orders from vendors and ensure order accuracy
  • Rotate older stock to front and maintain product freshness
  • Stock and restock all department areas every shift
  • Pull out of date or low-quality items and record and dispose of them accordingly
  • Monitor food temperatures and take corrective action
  • Quickly prepare made to order sandwiches and wok bowls
  • Assemble and bake pizzas and other items in firedeck oven as specified
  • Ensure proper signage and labels on products
  • Efficiently stock hot and cold self-serve food bars
  • Operate a cash register and balance cash drawer
  • Display meat and seafood attractively while maintaining storage conditions
  • Assist meat and seafood department with product preparation and display
  • Assist with receiving deliveries, check for damage and quality
  • Organize and consolidate walk-in freezer back stock
  • Grind meat and fillet fish as needed
  • Maintain work area sanitary and orderly
  • Follow safe working practices
  • Perform dish and potwashing
  • Clean spills and take out trash
  • Remove trash promptly and sweep and mop floors
  • Carry out established opening and closing procedures
  • Use equipment safely and report repair needs
  • Participate in inventory counts
  • Attend department and storewide meetings
  • Answer and route phone calls and take messages
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Shift Lead or Manager
