The role of Service Leader at Chipotle is pivotal in maintaining the brand's high standards for customer experience and food quality. This position involves overseeing the preparation and serving of food to ensure it meets Chipotle’s strict quality and safety guidelines. Service Leaders play a crucial role in supporting the restaurant team, ensuring that crew members are well-trained and that customer service remains exceptional. The Service Leader is responsible for managing a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen line environment, monitoring equipment functionality, and enforcing food safety protocols such as handwashing, glove changes, and temperature control. This role requires the leader to be actively engaged on the restaurant floor, leading by example, and stepping in to assist with tasks as needed. They also support administrative functions, including cash handling, banking, and office supply management. Through mentoring and coaching, Service Leaders develop and cross-train crew members, conduct performance reviews, and help cultivate future leaders within the company. Job Requirements

  • have a high school diploma
  • have restaurant experience
  • be able to understand and articulate Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy
  • have knowledge and experience of cash handling policies and procedures
  • have knowledge of food safety and health department matters
  • have familiarity with office paperwork
  • have the knowledge and ability to speak, write, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location

Job Duties

  • making sure great tasting, high quality food is served
  • helping to resolve food quality issues
  • supporting food safety which includes ensuring hand washing and glove changes, monitoring time and temperature on the line, monitoring secondary shelf lives, and ensuring the Daily Food Safety Checklist and food safety policies and procedures are followed
  • helping to resolve customer incidents and working to ensure positive customer experiences
  • helping to monitor crew breaks, shift changes, shift meetings, and line schedules
  • developing and cross training all front of house crew
  • assisting with crew performance reviews
  • developing future service leaders
  • assisting with miscellaneous office administration duties such as banking, cash handling policies and responsibilities, and office paperwork
  • ensuring office equipment remains in working order and making sure office supplies are ordered as necessary
  • ensuring the proper quantity of supplies are available as needed
