The Service Leader role at Chipotle is an essential leadership position aimed at maintaining a positive customer experience by ensuring safe, high-quality food preparation and excellent customer service. Service Leaders are responsible for overseeing the restaurant crew to uphold the standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency throughout the food line and dining area. This position requires the individual to be active and on their feet during their shift, providing hands-on support where needed, and taking initiative to help the team complete necessary tasks during quieter periods. Service Leaders are also involved in training and cross-training crew members, assisting with performance reviews, and helping to develop future leaders within the restaurant. Additionally, they aid with administrative responsibilities, including cash handling, banking, office paperwork, and managing inventory supplies and office equipment. The role emphasizes food safety policies and procedures, ensuring monitoring of hand hygiene, food temperatures, secondary shelf life, and adherence to the Daily Food Safety Checklist. A successful Service Leader contributes directly to resolving food quality and customer service issues, helps coordinate crew scheduling, and supports overall restaurant operations to ensure a smooth and enjoyable customer experience.

This position offers competitive pay, including a base salary ranging from $22.85 to $25.44 per hour, supplemented by digital tips. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • restaurant experience
  • knowledge and experience with cash handling policies and procedures
  • knowledge of food safety and health department regulations
  • ability to understand and communicate in the primary language(s) of the work location
  • ability to perform physical work standing for extended periods
  • willingness to assist others with various tasks
  • adherence to company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • restaurant experience
  • knowledge and ability to speak, write, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
  • understanding and ability to articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy
  • knowledge and experience of cash handling policies and procedures
  • knowledge of food safety and health department requirements
  • familiarity with office paperwork

Job Duties

  • Make sure great tasting, high quality food is served
  • help resolve food quality issues
  • support food safety including hand washing and glove changes, monitor time and temperature on the line, monitor secondary shelf lives, ensure Daily Food Safety Checklist and food safety policies are followed
  • help resolve customer incidents and ensure positive customer experiences
  • monitor crew breaks, shift changes, shift meetings, and line schedules
  • develop and cross train all front of house crew
  • assist with crew performance reviews
  • develop future Service Leaders
  • assist with miscellaneous office administration duties such as banking, cash handling policies, and office paperwork
  • ensure office equipment remains in working order and ensure office supplies are ordered as necessary
  • ensure proper quantity of supplies are available as needed
