Job Description

Mangino Buick & GMC is a well-established automotive dealership specializing in the sale and service of Buick and GMC vehicles. Currently, Mangino Buick & GMC is seeking a reliable, responsible, and safe driver to fill the Service Lane Porter position, which includes the opportunity to advance into a Service Writer Apprentice role. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, starting with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. The role is an excellent fit for individuals with customer service experience who have a valid driver's license and are motivated to grow within the dealership’s Service Department.

The Service Lane Porter plays a critical role in managing service appointments by driving vehicles into the service garage after customer check-in, assisting customers with loading or unloading items, and returning vehicles upon completion of service appointments. The Porter ensures that the service department maintains a safe, clean, and organized environment, which includes tasks such as mopping, window washing, and replenishing vehicle fluids. Maintaining lot presentation is also crucial, with responsibilities for keeping the new and used vehicle lots neat and orderly, following dealership display standards and directions from management.

Additionally, this position supports service technicians and assists with various other duties as assigned, including aiding in maintenance, service, repairs, parts, and sales departments as needed. The Service Lane Porter also has the opportunity to shadow and learn from experienced Service Writers, gaining valuable knowledge and skills that can lead to career advancement within the department.

To thrive in this role, candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, multitask effectively, and display strong customer service skills. Knowledge of basic automotive services is preferred, along with the ability to follow safety standards rigorously. Job Duties

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • assist customers with loading or unloading items
  • check vehicles in and move them in and out of the service lane, including plugging in savvy vehicles
  • maintain a safe, clean and organized service department including mopping, washing windows and stocking supplies
  • replenish and top off vehicle fluids as necessary
  • inspect parts, equipment or vehicles for cleanliness, damage and compliance with standards
  • maintain lot presentation by keeping new and used vehicle lots neat and orderly
  • assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management including aiding service technicians and shadowing service writers
