Job Description
This position is with a food service establishment that operates a cafe dedicated to providing quality guest experiences through efficient and friendly service. The company takes pride in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy freshly prepared food items in a clean and orderly environment. As part of their team, employees are encouraged to support and promote company initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture and enhance the overall dining experience. This establishment values customer satisfaction and employs individuals who are enthusiastic about delivering excellent service and upholding the company’s standards. The job is suited for those who enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where teamwork and communication are key components of success.
The role of Service Attendant/Busser is integral to the daily operations of the cafe. Under the direction of the Cafe Manager, this individual is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of food items that include soups, salads, desserts, beverages, wraps, and pickles. Duties also extend to maintaining food displays and condiment stations at the front of the house (FOH), which ensures that the service area is well stocked and inviting for guests. The Service Attendant/Busser prepares trays and delivers food to guests promptly while ensuring that the dining room and restrooms remain clean and well maintained throughout the shift. Interaction with guests requires a friendly demeanor and the ability to respond appropriately to guest requests, escalating issues to the manager when necessary.
In addition to the primary duties, the position includes secondary functions such as expo, cashiering, dishwashing, and line cooking. These cross-functional responsibilities help support smooth cafe operations and provide employees with diverse experience within the food service environment. Accuracy and accountability are important when performing cashiering tasks to maintain integrity in financial transactions. Employees in this role must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when preparing food according to specifications and order requests. The Service Attendant/Busser plays a vital role in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and guest satisfaction, contributing directly to the positive reputation of the cafe.
Employment with this employer includes compliance with Equal Opportunity and E-Verify standards, following all Ban the Box and Fair Chance hiring guidelines in accordance with federal and local legislation. This inclusive hiring approach reflects the company’s commitment to fair employment practices. Candidates are required to meet certain qualifications such as possessing a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with insurance, and relevant certifications like a State Foodhandler card or ServSafe certification if applicable. Experience in a guest service role within a restaurant or retail environment is preferred, highlighting the importance of guest interaction skills. Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems and basic math skills are also key requirements for effective job performance. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a foundation in hospitality and food service while working in a supportive and customer-focused establishment.
