Job Description

The establishment hiring for the Service Attendant/Busser position is a dynamic café known for its commitment to quality food service and exceptional guest experience. This café operates in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and customer satisfaction are paramount. As a part of their team, employees contribute to maintaining a welcoming and clean dining atmosphere while supporting food preparation and service under the supervision of the café manager. The café prides itself on promoting a supportive work culture where team members are encouraged to grow and develop their skills across multiple functions, including cashiering, expo duties, dishwashing, and line cooking. This role is perfect for individuals eager to thrive in a collaborative environment and expand their expertise in guest service within the food and beverage industry.

The Service Attendant/Busser plays a vital role in the daily operations of the café, focusing on both front-of-house and back-of-house tasks. Under the direction of the café manager, this position involves preparing various food items such as soups, salads, desserts, beverages, wraps, and pickles, ensuring that all items meet the café's quality standards. In addition to food preparation, Service Attendants are responsible for pulling and wrapping bread, stocking front-of-house displays and condiment stations, and preparing food trays for delivery to guests. Maintaining cleanliness and organization is also a key aspect of this role, including duties such as cleaning and maintaining the dining room and restrooms, bussing tables efficiently, and performing additional cleaning tasks as required.

Customer interaction is a significant component of the Service Attendant/Busser role. Employees are expected to provide friendly service, respond to guest requests appropriately, and refer any issues to the manager when necessary. This position demands a poised and customer-focused individual who can uphold the café's standards for hospitality and service excellence.

Flexibility is encouraged since Service Attendants may be called upon to support other secondary functions such as acting as an expo, cashier, dishwasher, or line cook based on the café's operational needs. Proficiency in using point of sale (POS) systems and maintaining cash flow integrity in cashiering tasks is essential for those taking on the cashier responsibilities.

The café is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment. It adheres to Equal Opportunity and E-Verify employer policies and follows Ban the Box and Fair Chance hiring guidelines in compliance with federal and local laws. This ensures a fair and supportive hiring process for all applicants.

In summary, the Service Attendant/Busser position offers a comprehensive opportunity to work in a lively café environment, develop a variety of skills related to food service and guest relations, and contribute to a friendly, clean, and efficient dining experience. Ideal candidates will be organized, detail-oriented, and eager to deliver high-quality service while supporting the team in multiple operational aspects.
