The available role at Queens Hospital Center focuses on supporting food services, housekeeping, and maintenance and grounds operations. This position is vital to maintaining the hospital’s operational environment and supporting patient care indirectly by ensuring clean, safe, and inviting surroundings as well as timely and proper foodservice. Employees in this role work under direct supervision, performing duties that require ordinary difficulty and responsibility across multiple operational areas.

The job entails preparing and assembling patient meals according to specified diets, maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas, and supporting cooking operations with tasks such as preparing sandwiches and salads. It also involves maintaining hygienic conditions by sanitizing dining utensils and working stations and managing waste disposal responsibly. In the housekeeping domain, responsibilities include cleaning and sterilizing various hospital areas, managing soiled linens, handling infectious waste safely, and maintaining floors and furniture. The role requires effective use of cleaning equipment and solutions, as well as adherence to health and safety standards.

Maintenance and ground operations include tasks such as lawn and shrub care, snow removal, debris clearance, and the loading and unloading of supplies and equipment. This multifaceted position ensures that the environment outside and within the hospital remains safe and conducive to patient and staff wellbeing. The position works 37.5 hours per week, typically from 4:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M., providing essential support during evening hours.

Candidates for this role must have the ability to read and write English and understand and carry out simple instructions.
