The Server/Guest Experience Ambassador position based in Fort Wayne, IN, is a pivotal role within the NEXDINE team focused on delivering an outstanding dining experience for residents, colleagues, and guests. This role is offered as both part-time and full-time employment, with a competitive hourly pay rate of $13.00 and weekly direct deposit pay frequency. Serving as the face of dining services, the ambassador ensures that every customer engagement epitomizes hospitality, attentiveness, and professionalism.
The primary responsibilities of the Server/Guest Experience Ambassador include leading the service of food and beverages, accurately taking and fulfilling orders, and explaining menu items with clarity regarding ingredients and cooking methods. This role demands a genuine passion for hospitality, as the ambassador actively engages with residents to gauge their satisfaction and dietary preferences, ensuring that all needs are met. The ambassador also supports meal period set-ups and clean-ups, stocks service areas, and performs essential cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and clearing tables.
Operating within a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced kitchen environment, the ambassador will work around various kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, coffee machines, and dishwashers, necessitating comfort with a variety of work conditions including exposure to heat, steam, and noise. Physical stamina is important, as the role may require standing for long periods, reaching, bending, lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds, and other physical activities.
This position reports directly to the Director of Dining Services and is integral to upholding the high standards of service that characterize the NEXDINE Experience. Beyond formal duties, the ambassador is encouraged to foster a spirit of hospitality in every interaction and contribute positively to the overall atmosphere and operational success of the dining area. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service
- Previous customer service experience
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, pull and lift items weighing up to 40 pounds
- Comfort working in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, noise and various kitchen equipment
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Cascade a spirit of hospitality in all dealings with residents, colleagues and guests
- Lead service of food or beverages to residents and prepare or serve specialty diets and dishes as required
- Engage with residents to obtain desired orders for food or beverages while articulating daily menu offerings
- Explain how menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
- Ensure residents are satisfied with all aspects of service and communicate any customer service issues to supervisor
- Check residents diets, likes and dislikes to ensure satisfaction of dietary requirements
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of all scheduled meal periods
- Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens
- Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, tidying service stations, clearing tables, and taking out trash
- May wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment
- Support culinary staff at various stations as directed
- Provide excellent customer service including being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking customers
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
