The Server/Bartender role is essential to upholding our reputation as a top dining and entertainment spot. As a Server/Bartender, you will be the face of our restaurant, welcoming guests, offering menu guidance, and processing orders efficiently using our point-of-sale system. In addition to serving food and beverages, you will also be responsible for bartending duties which include mixing drinks, maintaining bar supplies, and managing cash transactions at the bar. This role demands a balance of excellent communication skills, quick-thinking, and multitasking abilities to maintain the flow of service even during busy times.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • TABC certification
  • Food handler certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in restaurant front-of-house roles
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems
  • Good memory and attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • Communication skills that demonstrate friendliness and ease, adequate to directly serve and interact with customers
  • TABC certification
  • Food handler certification
  • General knowledge of bar drink recipes and enthusiasm for craft
  • Quality customer service skills
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in restaurant front-of-house staff
  • Ability to work closely with other staff, at a consistently fast pace, while performing a variety of time-constrained tasks
  • Requires good memory to avoid confusing customers' orders and to recall the faces, names, and preferences of frequent patrons
  • Basic POS skills to place orders and generate customers' bills

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
  • Be able to make wine suggestions to go with food orders
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system, which relays orders to the kitchen and bar
  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests promptly
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by the service station assignment
  • Maintain clean service areas
  • Monitor and observe guests' dining experience
  • Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges, or make change (if applicable)
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise
  • Be ready and willing to assist the busperson with clearing and resetting tables
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
  • Fill drink orders, either taken directly from patrons at the bar or through servers
  • Responsible for station inventory and cash banks
  • Check the identification of customers to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcohol and tobacco products
  • Prepare mixed drinks accurately, serve bottled or draught beer, and pour wine or other beverages
  • Stock and prepare garnishes for drinks
  • maintain an adequate supply of ice, glasses, and other bar supplies
  • keep the bar area clean for customers
  • Collect payment, operate the cash register
  • Wash glassware and utensils
  • Serve food to customers who dine at the bar
  • Maintain an inventory of liquor, mixes, and other bar supplies at their station
  • Inform supervisor(s) of any inventory shortages
  • Serve and interact with patrons
  • Answer phones and process to-go orders
  • Operate juicers and other bar-related equipment to mix drinks
  • Adhere to the work schedule as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
