Job Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years a la carte fine dining experience preferred, especially in hotel, resort or club environments
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in fast-paced settings
  • Florida Food Handler Certification
  • CPR/AED Certification preferred
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Capability for frequent walking, reaching, bending, turning, squatting, stooping and stretching
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Normal vision and hearing
  • Maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • Nails clean and hair tidy with long hair tied back
  • Avoid strong scents or perfume to maintain a neutral environment

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NorthStar POS system preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to understand, interpret and follow written, oral and scheduled instructions
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Job Duties

  • Greet members and call them by name
  • Distribute menus and describe specials and promotions
  • Take orders for food and beverages and serve members and guests in dining areas
  • Inform the kitchen and dining room manager of any special requests
  • Make suggestions for menu items, wine, dessert, coffee, and after dinner drinks
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items and specials including garnishes, ingredients, and preparations
  • Follow all proper steps of service for meal period including writing checks legibly, entering all information into POS system, ensuring correct billing, assembling and picking up orders
  • Serve meals by placing the correct item in front of each member and guest and check back to ensure satisfaction
  • Ensure all tables are properly bussed during the meal, keep water glasses full, and engage in personable yet limited conversations
  • Review member check for accuracy before presentation and signature
  • Notify supervisor of any member or guest complaints immediately
  • Coordinate with management to process any voids, deletions, or corrections in the POS system
  • Set up station and perform assigned side work for the dining venue
  • Attend pre-meal meetings and lineups daily
  • Perform assigned clean-up and closing duties and follow check-out procedures
  • Ensure all dining areas are fully prepared for service 15 minutes before opening
  • Leave all areas clean and organized at the end of each shift
  • Work as a team to ensure proper setup of assigned dining areas for dining and events, including table setting and furniture arrangement
  • Arrive to work dressed in a clean pressed uniform and equipped with necessary tools prior to shift or meetings
  • Perform any other duties and projects as assigned
