The Server is responsible for taking and delivering food orders timely, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in dining areas, and adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation requirements.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year job related experience preferred
  • Completion of CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate may be required
  • Completion of ServSafe Food Handler Card may be required
  • Completion of Local Health Department Food Handler Card may be required
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to use computer systems for order taking and meal delivery
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and residents

Job Qualifications

  • One year job related experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Completion of CPR and First Aid certificates may be required
  • Completion of ServSafe Food Handler Card may be required
  • Completion of Local Health Department Food Handler Card may be required

Job Duties

  • Cultivate a warm and hospitable environment by making personal connections with residents and guests and treating all with professionalism and respect
  • take and deliver food orders in a timely manner
  • bus and reset tables per company standards
  • clean and maintain the dining room and bistro to the highest standards per company guidelines
  • complete required side work as assigned
  • attend pre-meal meeting to gain knowledge of the meal
  • know menu items and provide general descriptions
  • assist residents with menu selections and respond professionally to questions about menu items
  • use Sunrise systems per guidelines for order taking and meal delivery to ensure accuracy
  • practice safe food handling procedures in accordance with federal, state, provincial, and local laws and Sunrise policies
  • comply with occupational health and safety regulations and risk management programs, adhering to safety rules and using personal protective equipment
  • perform dishwashing tasks to properly wash and sanitize all dishes and utensils
  • perform light janitorial duties, including sweeping, sanitizing, and emptying trash
  • prepare and serve light meals following standardized recipes and menus
  • assist with food preparation and plating as necessary
  • participate and commit to working toward team goals
  • demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
  • commit to serving residents and guests through Principles of Service
  • contribute to engagement programs
  • attend meetings such as Town Hall and Department Team meetings
  • maintain compliance with training requirements
  • perform other duties as assigned
