Job Description
Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group is an established and growing restaurant company that originated from a small, vibrant eatery located in New Orleans’ Mid-City neighborhood. Over time, it has expanded to operate two distinct brands, Ruby Slipper and Ruby Sunshine, boasting a total of 26 restaurants throughout the Southeast. The essence of these brands is deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of New Orleans, aiming to bring the spirit and soul of the city to every dish served. Specializing in all-day breakfast and brunch, Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group offers an inviting and energetic dining experience that celebrates southern hospitality and culinary tradition. Their commitment to quality food, exceptional service, and a lively atmosphere has made them a favorite destination for both locals and visitors alike.
This role involves becoming a valued member of the Ruby Krewe, the team of dedicated servers who are passionate about delivering memorable brunch experiences. The position focuses on providing friendly and responsive service to ensure all guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience from breakfast through lunch. As a server, you will embody the vibrant brunch culture, adding a personal touch—known as lagniappe—to cultivate raving fans who keep coming back. A key part of the job is enjoying the unique all-day breakfast concept, which allows team members to work days only, making money and still being home in time for dinner. This day-shift flexibility is an attractive feature for many employees seeking work-life balance.
To succeed in this role, candidates must believe in the simple joy that butter and bacon make everything better, reflecting the brand’s southern comfort food identity. Successful Ruby Krewe members communicate effectively with guests, understand dining room and service procedures, and are comfortable handling money and operating a point-of-sale system. Physical stamina is necessary as the position requires standing for long periods, sometimes up to 10 hours, and safely lifting trays that may weigh up to 25 pounds. This role is a dynamic one with responsibilities that may evolve over time, always prioritizing guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
