Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
previous experience in restaurant service is an advantage
ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
physical stamina to stand for long periods
ability to handle monetary transactions accurately
reliable and punctual
willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
possess basic math skills
have ability to handle money and operate point-of-sale system
be able to work standing for up to 5 hours
be able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

Welcome and greet guests
make guests feel comfortable and let them know you are there to personally take care of them
inform guests of specials and menu changes
make recommendations guests will enjoy
answer questions about food, beverages and restaurant services
take food and beverage orders and enter them in point-of-sale system
deliver food and beverages in a timely manner
perform side work at the start and end of each shift
maintain clean service areas
monitor guests dining experience and ensure satisfaction
prepare final bills, accept payment and process credit card charges
assist fellow servers as needed
assist bus person with clearing and resetting tables
thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation
