Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in restaurant service is an advantage
- ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- physical stamina to stand for long periods
- ability to handle monetary transactions accurately
- reliable and punctual
- willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
- have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
- possess basic math skills
- have ability to handle money and operate point-of-sale system
- be able to work standing for up to 5 hours
- be able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 25 pounds
Job Duties
- Welcome and greet guests
- make guests feel comfortable and let them know you are there to personally take care of them
- inform guests of specials and menu changes
- make recommendations guests will enjoy
- answer questions about food, beverages and restaurant services
- take food and beverage orders and enter them in point-of-sale system
- deliver food and beverages in a timely manner
- perform side work at the start and end of each shift
- maintain clean service areas
- monitor guests dining experience and ensure satisfaction
- prepare final bills, accept payment and process credit card charges
- assist fellow servers as needed
- assist bus person with clearing and resetting tables
- thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
- be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation
