Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred
  • Have 2+ years of serving or related experience in a full-service restaurant
  • Have a current food handler's card and alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local law
  • Meet minimum age for preparing and serving alcoholic beverages
  • Have basic knowledge of food and beverage service/hospitality
  • Have excellent customer service skills
  • High school diploma or GED

Job Duties

  • Take food and drink orders from members/guest accurately and with a positive attitude
  • Engage with members/guest in a friendly manner
  • Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions
  • Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Help members/guest select food and beverages by presenting menu
  • offering cocktails
  • suggesting courses
  • explaining the chef's specialties
  • identifying appropriate wines
  • answering food preparation questions
  • Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed
  • replenishing utensils
  • refilling water glasses
  • being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Basic understanding of beer, wine, spirits, and sake preferred
  • Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handlers card
