Job Description

Old Chicago Pizza (OCP) is a celebrated full-service restaurant chain known for its commitment to craft beer, delicious pizzas, and classic American food. Established in 1976, Old Chicago has grown to over 100 locations and continues to thrive by delivering exceptional pizzas and taproom fare made fresh from scratch using high-quality ingredients. The company has a strong passion for craft beer, treating it not just as a trend but as a way of life, which is evident in their carefully curated selection featuring both local and international brews. This dedication to quality, hospitality, and authenticity has helped Old Chicago build a loyal customer base and foster a warm, inviting atmosphere across all its locations.

Old Chicago's service philosophy centers on creating memorable dining experiences where guests feel valued and well cared for. The restaurant offers both part-time and full-time career opportunities with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, designed to support the well-being and satisfaction of their team members. The company promotes a collaborative work culture where employees are encouraged to bring a "can-do" attitude to the table while delivering genuine hospitality and excellent guest service.

The Server / Waiter / Waitress role at Old Chicago is integral to the restaurant's success. The individual in this position serves as the face of the restaurant, providing attentive, friendly, and timely service that guides guests through the menu and beverage options — especially the extensive craft beer selection. The server’s responsibility extends beyond taking and delivering orders; it’s about crafting a personalized, enjoyable dining experience that exceeds guest expectations and encourages repeat visits. Team players with a passion for hospitality and food service will find this role fulfilling, as it offers real opportunities for career growth within the company.

In this role, servers are expected to create positive first impressions, build rapport with guests, and contribute to a welcoming environment. They must have a solid understanding of Old Chicago’s menu and beverage offerings to confidently recommend dishes and drinks, ensuring guests’ needs are met promptly and professionally. The position demands flexibility in scheduling, as shifts must accommodate the restaurant's dynamic hours, as well as varying guest volumes.

Old Chicago is committed to the success and well-being of their employees by offering a comprehensive benefits program that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Additional voluntary benefits are also available. The flexible scheduling options accommodate school, family, and other life commitments, making it an attractive workplace for a diverse range of candidates. Advancement opportunities exist for dedicated team members who demonstrate a commitment to the company’s values and strive to excel in their roles. Team member discounts are also part of the benefits package, enabling employees to enjoy the great food and beverages they help serve.

Overall, joining the Old Chicago team means becoming part of a well-established company that values its employees and customers alike. If you are enthusiastic about providing excellent customer service, enjoy working in a lively restaurant setting, and have a positive, team-oriented mindset, the Server / Waiter / Waitress position at Old Chicago offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity. This role not only supports your professional growth but also invites you to be a key contributor to the continued success and friendly atmosphere that define Old Chicago’s reputation in the restaurant industry.
