Job Description

Delaware North Gaming is a prominent player in the hospitality and gaming industry, operating across various iconic venues including sports arenas, national parks, casinos, and hotels. With over 100 years of history, Delaware North is a family-owned global company that emphasizes growth, success, and creating memorable experiences for its guests. The company prides itself on offering diverse job opportunities in numerous sectors such as restaurants, hotels, sports, gaming, operations, and retail. This diversity allows employees to find unique paths for their personal and professional development within a supportive and dynamic environment. Delaware North's commitment to equal opportunity employment demonstrates its inclusive work culture, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds regardless of race, gender, age, disability status, or any other legally protected characteristic.

The Sheraton Hotel in Nashua, New Hampshire, is seeking part-time Servers to join their food and beverage team as part of Delaware North Gaming's network. This role is geared towards individuals who take pride in delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality setting. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in the restaurant experience by representing the establishment with professionalism and a friendly attitude. The position is a tipped role, which means that in addition to the hourly wage of $7.20, employees can earn additional income through tips. This compensation structure is designed to reward servers for excellent customer service and the ability to connect with guests.

In this role, Servers are responsible for greeting guests warmly, introducing menus, highlighting daily specials, and accurately taking and processing food and beverage orders. You will be expected to serve alcoholic beverages responsibly by adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies. Accurate entry of orders into the point-of-sale system, handling payment transactions efficiently, and delivering checks to guests promptly are key responsibilities as well. Collaboration with kitchen, bar, and fellow service staff is essential to ensure seamless operations and an outstanding dining experience.

Beyond serving during meals, Servers are also tasked with various opening, closing, and side work duties to maintain cleanliness, organization, and the proper function of workspaces and equipment. This contributes to the overall high standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction expected at Delaware North venues.

Candidates should be at least 18 years of age and possess cash handling and credit card processing experience. Previous experience as a server in a busy hospitality environment and familiarity with point-of-sale systems are advantageous but not mandatory, as Delaware North provides comprehensive training and development opportunities. Unlike many hospitality positions, this role does not require a high school diploma or GED, making it accessible to a diverse range of applicants.

Physically, the role requires stamina and strength including the ability to lift up to 35 pounds and sustain long periods of standing, walking, and bending. Visual and auditory abilities sufficient to take accurate orders and manage payments are also necessary.

Shifts are primarily during evenings, weekends, and holidays, aligning with peak periods in the hospitality calendar. Delaware North values work-life balance and offers flexible scheduling to accommodate employees’ needs.

The benefits package is designed to support the well-being of team members, including weekly pay, employee discounts, training and development programs, and flexible work schedules. Eligible employees may also receive health, dental, and vision insurance, access to a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation and holidays, paid parental bonding leave, employee assistance programs, as well as tuition and certification reimbursements.

Joining Delaware North at The Sheraton means becoming part of a global hospitality family dedicated to delivering great times in great places. The company fosters an environment where you can build your career, grow your skills, and be part of a legacy that spans more than a century. If you are passionate about hospitality, enjoy engaging with guests, and want to thrive in a supportive, inclusive workplace, this opportunity is the perfect fit.
