The Server role at FCG Sugar Land is essential to the operation of the restaurant and serves as the face of the company, delivering outstanding service to every guest. This position involves a blend of professionalism, energy, and a customer-first approach, ensuring that every visitor receives a warm welcome and prompt, personalized service throughout their dining experience. Servers are expected to have a comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including all food and beverage options, to offer informed recommendations and answer questions to enhance customer satisfaction. Working in a fast-paced environment, servers must manage their sections efficiently, balancing multiple tables while maintaining a neat and organized workspace.
Beyond order taking and food delivery, the Server position also involves engaging guests with genuine conversation when appropriate, accommodating special needs such as large parties or business meetings, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws including responsible beverage service and cash handling policies. The role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask under pressure, all while upholding the restaurant's standards of safety, sanitation, and hospitality excellence. Servers work closely with other team members, including bussers and bartenders, to ensure seamless service. The role also includes performing opening, ongoing, and closing sidework duties to maintain the quality and cleanliness of the dining environment.
This position requires standing and walking for the entirety of a shift, handling physical tasks such as carrying loads over 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and maintaining physical endurance and balance. Job Requirements
- Eighteen years of age or older
- High school degree or GED preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach for 100 percent of the shift
- Ability to lift and carry loads greater than 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling
- Capability to climb stairs, ladders, and ramps
- Ability to communicate clearly in the primary language of the restaurant
- Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
- Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Live by a servant leadership philosophy to always serve others first
- Understand and comply with all company policies, procedures, and operating standards
- Provide every customer with an awesome first, next and last great experience
- Utilize genuine salesmanship techniques during customer interactions
- Place accurate orders using the POS system
- Deliver food and beverages with urgency, delivering hot food hot and cold food cold
- Manage a section of tables as though it were your own business
- Maintain a clean and organized section, service station, and dining room
- Adhere to responsible beverage service requirements and cash handling policies
- Assist busser by clearing and wiping tables
- Assist bartenders by stocking glassware, ice, and garnishes
- Complete assigned opening, ongoing, and closing sidework
- Maintain a safe, sanitary, and secure environment at all times
- Notify a manager of all customer complaints
- Remain calm at all times
- Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by a manager
