The Server role at DoubleTree by Hilton Tallahassee is crucial in shaping the guest experience by offering prompt, friendly, and efficient food and beverage service. This position requires the successful candidate to manage taking accurate food and beverage orders, serving guests with a courteous demeanor, and handling payments accurately. Specific duties include greeting guests with a warm smile, describing menu items clearly, and ensuring timely delivery of food from the kitchen to the guests’ tables.   • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Must arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at scheduled shift ending time

  • Ability to stand for sustained periods
  • Ability to walk long distances between work sites
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers

  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English

Job Duties

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile
  • Use guests' names whenever possible to ensure they feel welcomed

  • Maintain strong knowledge of all hotel facility features and amenities
  • Support all groups and events at the hotel
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting
  • Keep all areas, front and back of house, clean and well-organized
  • Assist in cleaning guest rooms and public spaces as needed
  • Greet guests pleasantly while cleaning
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and on designated times every shift
  • Prepare accurate and timely shift handover reports
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform, be well-groomed and wear a nametag while smiling
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members
  • Show a can-do attitude and be willing to stretch beyond traditional roles
  • Collaborate at all levels to create a welcoming environment and positive workplace
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately
  • Deliver food promptly from kitchen to tables
  • Input orders in POS system and secure accurate payment
  • Prepare coffee and specialized drinks
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables
  • Observe diners and respond to requests quickly
  • Complete inventory prep sheet and other side work tasks
  • Maintain knowledge of menu offerings
  • Escort guests to tables
  • Comply with food safety and handling policies
  • Maintain cleanliness of restaurant and surrounding areas
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hotel hours and amenities
