The Server role at Courtyard by Marriott Jacksonville Flagler Center is a vital position dedicated to delivering prompt, friendly, and accurate food service to guests. This role requires a passion for hospitality and the ability to engage with guests warmly, ensuring their dining experience is seamless and enjoyable. Key responsibilities include greeting guests with a friendly attitude, accurately taking and delivering food and beverage orders, handling payments with precision, and maintaining a spotless dining environment. This position emphasizes teamwork and includes supporting hotel events and amenities by being knowledgeable about the property's offerings and demonstrating excellent communication skills. The Server will also perform barista functions such as preparing coffee and specialized drinks, contributing further to guest satisfaction.

This full-time or part-time role demands flexibility with work schedules, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, to meet the operational needs of the hotel. Additionally, the Server is expected to uphold the MCR standards by wearing a clean, approved uniform, maintaining personal grooming, and fostering positive teamwork. The position also requires adherence to food safety protocols, proper handling and rotation of products, and supporting cleanliness within the restaurant and adjacent spaces. Job Requirements

  • Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise or related field preferred
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions, assigned tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Always provide friendly service with a smile to guests
  • Flexible schedule with availability days, nights, holidays, and weekend based on the demands of the hotel
  • Must arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate manager
  • Never work while clocked out
  • Must clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule
  • Must provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and give a clear and correct description of food and beverage options
  • Deliver hot to order items from kitchen to tables
  • Input orders into computer and secure accurate payment
  • Prepare coffee as well as other specialized drinks
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables for dining as needed
  • Observe diners and respond to requests
  • Complete daily inventory prep sheet and other side work allowable by labor rules
  • Knowledge and familiarity of current food and beverage offerings
  • Escort guests to tables as needed
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and handling policies and procedures, including product rotation, dating, labeling, and cleaning
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and surrounding areas
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hours and available amenities of the hotel
