The Server position at Momiji plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to patrons. As a food server, the individual is responsible for greeting customers warmly, answering detailed questions about the menu, and guiding guests through the selection process, including recommended pairings and upselling options to enhance satisfaction. The server’s responsibilities extend beyond order-taking to include the timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages, clear communication with kitchen staff regarding special dietary needs and allergen considerations, and adherence to OLCC regulations for the service of alcoholic beverages. This role demands attentiveness to customers, anticipating their needs such as drink refills, and addressing any issues promptly and courteously to ensure customer satisfaction.
In addition to front-of-house duties, the server is expected to handle point of sale system operations for order processing and payments, perform side prep work such as cutting cucumbers and refilling condiments, and assist in packing to-go orders. The position might also require working in various stations, including the tempura station, and contributing to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards both in the server station and the wider restaurant environment. Job Requirements
- Valid food handler and OLCC cards or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire

Job Duties
- Greets and seats customers
- answers questions about the menu and makes recommendations including upselling
- accurately takes orders and communicates them to the kitchen staff
- understands and communicates any food allergies or special instructions to the kitchen staff
- follows OLCC guidelines for alcohol orders and service
- answers the phone and takes orders
- ensures that all orders are filled quickly and accurately and that the food is high quality
- provides attentive service to customers such as refilling drinks as needed and checking on guests needs during the meal and updating them on the status of their order
- promptly addresses any customer service issues and refers them to the appropriate person if necessary
- performs cleaning and sanitation duties such as server station and tables
- takes and processes customer payments using a POS system
- operates all functions of the POS system including discounts and rewards
- completes side prep work such as cutting cucumbers refilling condiments and doing dishes
- packs up to go orders and rings out customers
- works in the tempura station as needed
- assists kitchen staff as needed
- cleans outside of server area and dishes as needed
- other duties as assigned
