Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • current Food Handler's card or ability to obtain one upon hire
  • ability to work in a fast-paced and team-based environment
  • strong knowledge of local, state, and federal food sanitation standards
  • ability to multitask and problem solve when necessary
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and 20-30 lbs repetitively
  • must pass a drug test and criminal background check

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • associate degree or certification in culinary arts preferred
  • current Food Handler's card or ability to obtain one upon hire
  • current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification within 18 months of hire
  • strong knowledge of local, state, and federal food sanitation standards
  • proven customer service skills
  • able to work in a fast-paced and team-based environment
  • ability to multitask and problem solve when necessary
  • experience working with diverse populations, including aging, minority, and low-income populations
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • proven recordkeeping and organizational skills
  • ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and 20-30 lbs repetitively
  • passion for serving seniors in our community

Job Duties

  • take orders, prepare, pick up, and serve food from the kitchen
  • ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and food regulations following health department standards and Food Service Manual
  • prepare tables for opening and maintain side work before, during, and after service
  • attend to customers upon entrance and leaving the Diner
  • present menus and help customers select food/beverages
  • collaborate with other diner servers, bussers, hosts, and kitchen staff
  • respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
