Job Requirements

  • Age over 18 years or have appropriate work permit
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Complete a health screening and provide negative TB test within last 6 months or within 7 days of employment
  • Basic counting skills for tracking meals and residents
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical duties such as lifting, pushing, pulling
  • Ability to lift and carry 40+ pounds
  • Good communication skills including speaking, reading and writing English
  • Ability to use serving equipment like trays, carts and salad bar
  • Mindfulness regarding resource and supply use, minimizing waste
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with residents, family members and public
  • Must not be considered an Excluded Party under government healthcare programs
  • Comply with HIPAA, Resident Rights, state licensing and other regulatory laws

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in restaurant or food service preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment
  • Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
  • Completion of dining room training course with CCG
  • Ability to meet and maintain all state regulatory requirements

Job Duties

  • Take written food orders and serve meals to residents, family members and visitors in a professional, efficient and courteous manner
  • Assist residents with meal/menu selections as necessary or requested
  • Use proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables courteously and professionally
  • Review residents dietary needs as outlined by Supervisor
  • Track resident attendance at meals and provide information to appropriate person
  • Ensure all residents are greeted and seated properly, making extra efforts to integrate new residents
  • Ensure clean sanitary dining areas and comply with food handling policies
  • Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, team members and guests
  • Aid community marketing efforts through positive interactions, dress and behavior
  • Serve, clean, reset tables and return dishes to kitchen
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Clean and set up dining and food service areas including stocking condiments
  • Cooperate and assist with kitchen and dining services to ensure positive dining experience
  • Report safety or equipment issues to supervisor
  • Assist in breaking down deliveries, putting away stock, washing dishes as needed
  • Deliver meals to resident rooms and collect trays after meal service
