As a specialized section within a larger hospitality environment, the Oyster Bar combines the art of seafood dining with a lively bar atmosphere, creating a unique social destination for patrons. Known for its warm, welcoming environment and commitment to quality, the establishment attracts a diverse clientele seeking both leisure and fine dining. The company emphasizes a culture of genuine guest engagement and positive energy, aiming to provide an escape from the routine into an exciting fantasy world where fun, chance, and possibility come alive. Employees are empowered through a value system that promotes personal accountability, fairness, and a relentless focus on customer satisfaction, aspiring to be recognized fairly and to contribute to growth opportunities for all.
We are currently seeking an Oyster Bar Server who will play a pivotal role in delivering excellent food and beverage services to guests seated at the Oyster Bar and surrounding tables. This position requires a blend of friendly hospitality and efficient service to enhance the customer experience. The Oyster Bar Server will be responsible for greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, maintaining deep knowledge of menu items including beer and wine selections, and ensuring the presentation and cleanliness of the service stations reflect the company's standards. Attention to detail is crucial, as the role involves inspecting the cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and public spaces, maintaining organized bar and bottle displays, coolers, and station equipment.
This role is tailored for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and who value teamwork and guest interaction. The Oyster Bar Server acts as a cornerstone in creating memorable dining experiences by combining professional service with a positive attitude. Responsibilities extend beyond serving to include preparing stations before the shift, completing side work as directed, and adhering strictly to uniform and punctuality standards. The position also demands compliance with all required training certifications, including Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service, BASSET, and ServeSafe Sanitation training, ensuring the highest levels of safety and service quality.
The position requires candidates to be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED, or be willing to complete a GED program within six months of employment. Experience in the beverage department or related fields, as well as minimum bartending skills, are essential to succeed in this role. The company offers a competitive base pay ranging from $9.00 to $13.00, reflective of experience and skill level. In addition, voluntary full-time benefits are available, including group medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; access to a flexible spending account; an Employee Assistance Program; paid time off; 401K with matching contributions; shift differentials; and discretionary quarterly bonuses. This opportunity is well-suited for someone seeking to advance within the hospitality industry while working in a supportive and enriching environment. Candidates must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Occupational License pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board.
