Job Description
This job opportunity is with an established upscale Asian restaurant located within a vibrant casino and entertainment complex. The restaurant is known for delivering not only exquisite culinary experiences but also exceptional personalized service to a diverse clientele. As part of a sophisticated hospitality environment, the restaurant focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere where each guest feels valued and catered to with precision and care. This environment emphasizes high service standards, including an in-depth knowledge of menu items, superior customer interaction skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
The role of Server in this restaurant is pivotal in ensuring guests receive impeccable service from the moment they walk in until they leave. The Server will be responsible for providing fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service that consistently exceeds the expectations of members and guests. This position demands attentiveness and a genuine commitment to making each guest feel as though they are the sole focus of the restaurant's care. The Server will have an intimate understanding of the menu, including pronunciation, preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients, and presentation styles to confidently recommend dishes aligned with guest preferences and enhance sales through suggestive selling of appetizers, beverages, and desserts.
Beyond direct guest interaction, the Server will be tasked with maintaining well-organized service stations, preparing all silverware, glassware, and flatware to exacting standards, and ensuring readiness for high traffic events like concerts. Proficiency in using the restaurant’s Point of Sale (POS) system is necessary for accurate order entry and billing. The Server must also be knowledgeable about liquor and wine service and comply with all state laws relating to alcohol sales. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all designated areas, deep cleaning as needed, and adhering to cash handling and gaming guidelines will be essential parts of daily duties.
Working in the casino’s dynamic setting, the Server will also contribute to promoting current casino events and programs, providing directions within the casino complex, and recognizing VIP members to offer enhanced service. The nature of the work environment includes exposure to second-hand smoke, noise, bright lighting, and cleaning chemicals, with an expectation to perform well under pressure while maintaining positive interactions with guests and staff alike.

This is a full-time server position requiring at least one year of food service experience in high-volume upscale restaurants, preferably with an Asian cuisine background. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, excellent communication skills, and a Food Worker’s Certificate (food handler’s card) are mandatory. Bilingual abilities in Mandarin or Cantonese are advantageous, supporting effective service to a diverse clientele. Job Requirements
- must be 21 years of age
- high school diploma or GED equivalent
- minimum of 1 year food server experience in a high volume, upscale Asian restaurant preferred
- must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- speak, read and write English fluently
- bilingual in English, Mandarin or Cantonese preferred
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- food workers certificate (food handler's card)

Job Duties
- provide fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to the restaurant guests, bussers and restaurant host/hostess
- maintain current and accurate information regarding menu including pronunciation, preparation, ingredients and presentation
- suggest items to guests based on expressed preferences and upsell appetizers, beverages and desserts
- adhere to schedule and attend all service staff meetings
- operate and utilize POS system accurately for order entry and billing
- follow all cash handling and gaming guidelines
- ensure proper setup and maintenance of service stations, tables and common dining areas
- polish, stock and set silverware, glassware and flatware to service standards
- prepare sufficient setups for service including silverware, china, sugar, creamers, iced tea and coffee according to business levels
- demonstrate knowledge of liquor and wine service and comply with state laws on alcohol service
- deliver prepared food within three minutes of completion
- monitor and resolve service issues according to standards
- assist bussers with bussing, cleaning and setting tables as needed
- maintain cleanliness of designated areas per health and safety standards
- deep clean restaurant equipment as scheduled or required
- operate and maintain equipment following safety procedures
- recognize VIP players and provide appropriate service
- promote current casino events and provide directions within casino areas
