Job Description

We are currently seeking a Food Server to join our Independent Living facility as either a full-time or part-time team member, with working hours from 10:30am to 7:30pm. This role offers a unique opportunity to become the main point of contact for resident interactions in the dining room, delivering exceptional dining experiences in a socially rich setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong positive attitude toward customer service, demonstrating creativity and dedication in their work. Responsibilities include preparing dining tables with an emphasis on cleanliness and organization, presenting menus, aiding residents in food and beverage selection, and ensuring timely and accurate food service. This position requires working closely with residents, guests, families, and team members, emphasizing courteous and tactful communication, while maintaining a fast-paced and detail-oriented work pace.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent preferred
- Experience in table service in hospitality or dining settings preferred
- Ability to interpret menus and assist residents in selection
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups
- Proficient English communication and basic arithmetic skills
- Commitment to hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent is preferred but not required
- Experience serving tables in a hotel, restaurant, or fine dining club is desirable
- Ability to interpret and explain the menu, address questions, manage the meal service process, and respond to requests
- Capability to work closely with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers, requiring courtesy, tact, and grace
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English, performing basic arithmetic, and following written or oral instructions in English
- Commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a keen attention to detail
Job Duties
- Serve as the main point of contact for resident interactions in the dining room
- Prepare dining tables with an emphasis on cleanliness and organization
- Attend to residents as they arrive in the dining area
- Present menus and assist residents in choosing food and beverages
- Take food and beverage orders, ensuring they are communicated to the kitchen staff promptly
- Deliver and serve food and beverage items quickly and confirm that each resident has received the correct menu items
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and the kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures
- Assist in transporting food and items to and from the kitchen to dining or resident rooms
