Job Description

This role is for a Server position at MH Restaurants, where the primary responsibility is to interact with guests and ensure they have an excellent dining experience. Servers act as the face of the restaurant, providing friendly and efficient service that meets the needs of all customers. The position is hourly, with a base pay of $2.13 per hour plus tips. After one year of service and working an average of over 30 hours per week, employees become eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off (PTO), medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability, and participation in a 401K retirement plan.

Servers are expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times, ensuring that guests feel welcome and comfortable throughout their visit. This includes knowledge of the current menu, specials, and any deviations or shortages communicated from the kitchen. The role requires handling table bookings, presenting menus, suggesting dishes and drinks, and efficiently managing customer needs. Servers also prepare tables, lay out utensils and napkins, replenish condiments, and assist in drink preparation. Handling payments accurately and issuing receipts is an important part of the role.

Additionally, servers at MH Restaurants may be required to fill in for absent staff, assist with special events, and participate in mandatory company meetings and training sessions. Adherence to grooming and uniform standards is strictly enforced to maintain the brand's professional image. The position offers flexibility in scheduling but requires availability for nights, weekends, and some holidays. Overall, servers play a vital role in upholding the ethical business practices and integrity of MH Restaurants while performing their duties safely and effectively.

Job Duties

  • The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining at the restaurant
  • Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner
  • At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome and comfortable
  • Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses
  • Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items…etc
  • Handle the table bookings, direct customers to their tables, presenting menus, suggesting dishes, assisting in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicating specific and accurate customer needs to the cooks
  • Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing other various preparation tasks
  • Prepare drinks for service to your customers table
  • Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change
  • Filling in for absent staff as needed
  • Assisting with special events as needed
  • Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Understands and can communicate products and services available at the restaurant
  • Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills
  • Follow all policies and procedures of MH Restaurants
  • Attend all mandatory meetings as directed
  • Perform other tasks, including cross-training as directed
  • Maintain dress code and uniform standard
  • Complete required training assigned through the company training portal
  • Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions to uphold the MH Restaurants group brand
  • Effectively perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner
  • Other duties as assigned
