Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- previous experience in a similar position for 3 months or longer
- basic knowledge of customer service principles
- understanding of food server functions
- familiarity with standard cash-handling procedures
- fluent in oral and written English
- vision ability to see detailed guest checks and written instructions
- manual coordination to handle trays and equipment
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- good hearing and vision
- ability to multitask and follow instructions
- highly organized
- tactful in dealing with customer service issues
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- previous experience in similar position of 3 months or longer
- basic knowledge of customer service principles
- basic understanding of food server function and restaurant and kitchen operations
- knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures
- fluent in oral and written English
- ability to memorize menu and specials
- capable of multitasking in busy environment
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Greets and takes food and drink orders from restaurant customers
- serves the orders and accommodates special needs or requests
- remains attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience
- completes all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework
- memorizes menu items, recipes and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations
- maintains cleanliness standards in the restaurant, waitstation and kitchen service area
- controls allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures
- receives proper payment and ensures accuracy of checks
- attends all pre-meal and departmental meetings
- responds to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone
- presents a clean and professional appearance
- maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
- performs other duties as assigned by management
