Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to adhere to proper food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and personal service processes
  • Strong communication skills verbally and in writing
  • Physical ability to perform standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, grasping, manual dexterity, stooping, kneeling, crouching, vision acuity, color vision, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Willingness to follow infection control policies and safely use hazardous materials
  • Must be alert and able to work safely in a safety sensitive position
  • Willingness to participate in training, onboarding, and team meetings

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to demonstrate adherence to proper food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal service
  • Ability to meet quality standards for services and evaluate customer satisfaction
  • Awareness of team dynamic, inventory, safety, and cleanliness
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Understanding of food safety procedures including temperature safety and sanitation
  • Desire to work with older adults and their families

Job Duties

  • Maintain a constant state of alertness to perform safely
  • Greet residents, visitors, and team members courteously
  • Respect dignity and confidentiality standards and promote resident rights
  • Serve delicious meals and ensure resident satisfaction
  • Record guest meals and report to Business Office Director
  • Recognize department needs and report concerns to Culinary Services Director
  • Assist in preparations for special meals and parties
  • Ensure proper storage of food and supplies
  • Assist with daily operations and cleaning of dining room and server areas
  • Adhere to dress code and assist in all dining room operations
  • Complete scheduled cleaning duties according to assignment
  • Ensure dining room cleanliness and readiness for next meal service
  • Follow community infection control policies
  • Use cleaners and hazardous materials according to procedure
  • Report and/or address unsafe conditions or equipment problems
  • Attend onboarding, annual training, in-services, and team meetings
  • Implement emergency plans including fire, earthquake, and other disasters
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary Services, Sous Chef, or Cook(s)
  • Adapt to reassignment of duties as needed
