The Server position at Culinary Services Group is available for both full-time and part-time employment at the Baltimore, MD location, offering a competitive hourly wage of $15.00. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of service and hospitality that CSG is known for, by taking food and beverage orders and delivering them promptly and professionally to dining guests. The Server acts as a key interface between guests and the kitchen, ensuring a seamless dining experience through efficient order handling, excellent communication, and strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols.
In this role, Servers greet customers warmly upon arrival, take their food and beverage orders accurately, and provide knowledgeable recommendations about the menu, including accommodating special dietary needs and preferences. They ensure that orders are delivered correctly and follow-up to address any additional guest needs or requests. Maintaining cleanliness, safety, and the organization of the dining area is another vital responsibility. Servers also manage the handling of tickets and cash transactions according to company procedures. The role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, patience, and flexibility, as Servers frequently collaborate with other departments, respond to complaints or concerns, and support the smooth operation of the dining environment.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain flexible and patient in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for handling transactions
- Ability to accommodate special dietary needs and allergies
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- Takes food and beverage orders in an efficient manner following established steps of service
- Delivers food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- Demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and advises guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
- Communicates directly with kitchen staff to ensure accuracy of orders and accommodate special requests
- Collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
- Maintains clean, safe, and neat dining environment
- Handles complaints and relays issues to supervisor promptly
- Ensures dining room is set up properly before and after service periods
- Operates various dining equipment and assists with special events
- Performs other duties as assigned
