Job Requirements

  • high school degree or equivalent
  • experience in a fine dining restaurant as a server, busser, or related role
  • excellent customer service and hospitality skills
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • attention to detail
  • ability to work effectively under pressure and with composure
  • ability to work interdepartmentally with restaurant, kitchen, spa, and other teams
  • maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • scheduling flexibility including weekend and holiday availability with Sundays mandatory
  • ability to follow directions carefully and receive coaching when necessary
  • effective communication with team during service
  • able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation
  • able to push/pull up to 20lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally
  • able to lift/carry average weight 30lbs frequently
  • able to stand/walk constantly
  • able to kneel/bend frequently
  • able to reach constantly
  • able to work in standing position for up to 5 hours

Job Duties

  • maintains knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, and any changes in menu or service
  • maintain high team focus via cooperation and support to other team members in pursuit of department goals
  • communicate clearly with leadership team and other team members, taking responsibility and initiative to resolve issues
  • be decisive, thinking ahead and developing contingency plans
  • be an active listener and show respect and empathy
  • be motivated and committed, approach tasks with enthusiasm and seek opportunities to learn
  • be flexible and respond positively to changing environments
  • attend daily line-up meetings to prepare for service
  • set up the restaurant for service including tables, silverware, glassware, linen
  • complete side work in a timely manner including polishing glassware, silverware, and china
  • serve water, bread, coffee, teas, and all dishes per Farmhouse Inn standards
  • use guest position numbers accurately without asking guests for verification
  • monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to guest requests
  • maintain table set up including crumbing, changing linens, and marking for next course items
  • maintain communication with servers, sommeliers, and kitchen for perfect timing
  • assist with receiving, unpacking, delivery, and storage of goods
  • maintain a 'snapshot of perfection' in dining room, restrooms, coat areas, and guest-visible areas
