The Server position at Eddie Merlot's plays a vital role in the overall dining experience by being the primary point of contact between the guests and the kitchen/bar. Servers are expected to have comprehensive knowledge of the menu and beverage selections, enabling them to confidently answer guest inquiries, recommend items, and guide guests through their dining choices including offering the signature meat tray presentation. This role is customer service-driven and requires excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and the broader team. Servers manage various operational duties such as taking orders, inputting them accurately in a timely manner, serving food and beverages in accordance with the restaurant’s standards, and handling guest checks and payments. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the assigned service station is also a key responsibility to ensure a pleasant dining environment. Additionally, servers are expected to complete all company-required training modules, maintain punctuality and professional appearance, and adhere to all regulations concerning food handling, safety, and alcohol service. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting preferred
  • strong knowledge of menu items and beverage options

  • ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • aptitude for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • willingness to learn and complete ongoing training modules

  • basic math skills for handling payments and tips

Job Duties

  • Complete and pass required training modules
  • know your work schedule for the week, arrive on time, and meet standards for uniform and professional appearance
  • know and understand menu and beverage options
  • follow established guidelines for sequence and methodology of service and providing outstanding hospitality
  • communicate with manager and hosts to understand reservations, guest flow, large parties, or special event needs
  • check assigned station and reservations, ensure tables are configured and set properly, perform opening duties
  • greet guests within specified timeframe, ensure comfort, present menus, and establish rapport
  • take beverage orders, garnish, pick up, and deliver drinks according to procedure
  • provide menu guidance including meat tray presentation, answer menu questions, explain specials, suggest items, and up-sell
  • accurately take and input orders following timing procedures
  • pick up and complete plate presentations as needed
  • serve orders, ensure accuracy, and address guest requests and concerns
  • check back with guests to ensure satisfaction
  • perform pre-bussing and table maintenance, offer desserts and additional beverages
  • audit and present guest checks, complete payment and tip-reporting
  • thank guests upon departure and invite them to return
  • bus, set, and reset tables
  • perform side duties, closing duties, and other tasks assigned by management
  • assist with Prime Society service and encourage membership
  • follow company policies, procedures, standards, and applicable laws including liquor and food handling regulations
  • communicate guest requests, complaints, and improvement ideas to management
  • work meetings, banquets, and special events as scheduled
  • maintain teamwork by assisting other team members with duties and sidework when needed or available
