Brighton Gardens of Saddle River, a part of Sunrise Senior Living, is currently seeking a dedicated Server (Dining Room Care Manager) to join their team. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality dining services in accordance with Sunrise Senior Living's standards and values. The Server will engage directly with residents, helping to create a warm, welcoming dining environment that supports their nutritional needs and social engagement. This position is vital for maintaining a safe and clean dining area, assisting in training new care managers, and contributing to the overall success of the dining experience.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Minimum one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality or full-service senior living
Must be Food Safety Certified within 90 days of taking the position
Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
Maintain ServeSafe certification
Compliance with state or provincial training requirements
Ability to sign and understand Driver job description if operating a Sunrise vehicle
Successful completion of pre-employment screenings and health evaluations
Covid 19 and Influenza vaccination if required by law
Adherence to all federal, state, and local food handling and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

Food safety certification within 90 days of hire
Maintain CPR and first aid certification

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills

Job Duties

Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe environment for residents and team members
Provide dining service training to new care managers
Maintain knowledge of daily and always available menu items and provide descriptions to residents
Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions about menu items
Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to guidelines
Respond to residents dining needs while maintaining hospitality and service standards
Attend pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of meal and support activities
Follow all food handling policies
Maintain dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness
Maintain side work duties as assigned
Keep tables and surrounding areas clean and ready
Perform dining room setup and reset according to procedures
Support dining room decorum and etiquette
Complete opening and closing checklist criteria
Assist in tabletop inventories
Review and document pertinent information in Daily Log
Review Resident Diet Book or confidential charts
Maintain confidentiality of resident information
Practice safe food handling to prevent illness
Complete cleaning assignments regularly
Keep work areas healthy and safe
Assist in organizing dining room flow and supplies placement
Partner with team to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and lockout tagout
Participate actively as a team member toward goals
Demonstrate daily adherence to Team Member Credo
Commit to serving residents through Principles of Service
Contribute to engagement programs and processes
Attend regular meetings as directed
Maintain compliance with required training
Perform other duties as assigned
