Brighton Gardens of Saddle River, a part of Sunrise Senior Living, is currently seeking a dedicated Server (Dining Room Care Manager) to join their team. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality or full-service senior living
- Must be Food Safety Certified within 90 days of taking the position
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
- Maintain ServeSafe certification
- Compliance with state or provincial training requirements
- Ability to sign and understand Driver job description if operating a Sunrise vehicle
- Successful completion of pre-employment screenings and health evaluations
- Covid 19 and Influenza vaccination if required by law
- Adherence to all federal, state, and local food handling and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality or full-service senior living
- Food safety certification within 90 days of hire
- Maintain CPR and first aid certification
- Maintain ServeSafe certification
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
Job Duties
- Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe environment for residents and team members
- Provide dining service training to new care managers
- Maintain knowledge of daily and always available menu items and provide descriptions to residents
- Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions about menu items
- Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to guidelines
- Respond to residents dining needs while maintaining hospitality and service standards
- Attend pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of meal and support activities
- Follow all food handling policies
- Maintain dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness
- Maintain side work duties as assigned
- Keep tables and surrounding areas clean and ready
- Perform dining room setup and reset according to procedures
- Support dining room decorum and etiquette
- Complete opening and closing checklist criteria
- Assist in tabletop inventories
- Review and document pertinent information in Daily Log
- Review Resident Diet Book or confidential charts
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Practice safe food handling to prevent illness
- Complete cleaning assignments regularly
- Keep work areas healthy and safe
- Assist in organizing dining room flow and supplies placement
- Partner with team to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and lockout tagout
- Participate actively as a team member toward goals
- Demonstrate daily adherence to Team Member Credo
- Commit to serving residents through Principles of Service
- Contribute to engagement programs and processes
- Attend regular meetings as directed
- Maintain compliance with required training
- Perform other duties as assigned
