The Server (Dining Room Care Manager) role at Sunrise Senior Living is a pivotal position within the community’s dining services team. This role involves providing exceptional dining and table services to residents in accordance with Sunrise’s rigorous standards. The Server will be responsible for supporting dining room operations, ensuring an inviting and safe environment for residents and team members, and assisting with training new care managers in dining services. Key duties include maintaining dining room cleanliness and readiness, helping with special events, supporting tabletop inventories, and following strict food safety and sanitation protocols. The Server must exhibit excellent customer service, demonstrate knowledge of menu items, assist residents with meal selections, and uphold Sunrise’s hospitality standards.

Additionally, this position requires active participation in team meetings and engagement programs, promoting safety compliance, and contributing to overall community goals. Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food handling and occupational health and safety is a must. The role demands a high level of organizational skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and strong communication capabilities to interact meaningfully with residents, families, and staff. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living
  • Food safety certified within 90 days of position start
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Maintain ServeSafe certification
  • Comply with all Sunrise and state/provincial training and re-education requirements
  • Ability to sign and understand Driver job description if driving a Sunrise vehicle
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment
  • Pass all required pre-employment screenings and health evaluations including potential Covid 19 and Influenza vaccinations if mandated

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living
  • Must be Food Safety Certified within 90 days of taking the position
  • Maintain required certifications including CPR, First Aid, and ServeSafe
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team members
  • Provide dining service training to new care managers
  • Maintain knowledge of daily and always available menu items and provide general descriptions to residents
  • Assist residents with menu selections and respond to pertinent questions about menu items
  • Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to established guidelines
  • Respond to the dining needs of the residents while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards
  • Attend pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities
