Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living
- Must obtain Food Safety certification within 90 days of employment
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
- Maintain ServeSafe certification
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Possess written and verbal communication skills
- Competent in organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Willingness to comply with employment conditioning including drug testing
- Compliance with vaccination requirements as mandated by law
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Job Duties
- Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team members
- Provide dining service training to new care managers
- Maintain knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and provide general descriptions to residents
- Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions about menu items
- Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to established guidelines
- Respond to the dining needs of residents while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards
- Attend pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of meal and meal support activities
- Follow all local, state/provincial, and federal policies regarding food handling
- Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards
- Perform dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain side work duties as assigned
- Maintain assigned tables and surrounding area in a complete state of cleanliness, appearance, and readiness
- Perform dining room set-up and re-set of tables in accordance with procedures
- Support dining room decorum and etiquette standards
- Complete opening and closing checklist criteria
- Assist in tabletop inventories maintenance
- Review, read, notate, and initial the Daily Log to document and learn pertinent information
- Review Resident Diet Book-TSD or confidential chart
- Maintain and protect confidentiality of resident information
- Practice safe food handling to prevent outbreaks of foodborne illness
- Complete cleaning assignments daily, weekly, and monthly
- Maintain all work areas in a healthy and safe condition
- Assist in dining room and surrounding areas for proper flow, organization, and supplies placement
- Partner with community team to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements
- Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets, and Lockout Tagout procedures
- Participate actively as a team member to work toward team goals
- Demonstrate the Team Member Credo in daily interactions
- Commit to serving residents and guests through Principles of Service
- Contribute to overall engagement programs and processes
- Attend regular meetings such as Town Hall, Department Team, and others
- Maintain compliance in required training and all state/provincial mandated training
- Perform other duties as assigned
