Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar position of 3 months or longer
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles and restaurant operations
- Knowledge of cash-handling procedures
- Fluency in oral and written English
- Vision ability to see detailed guest checks and instructions
- Manual coordination to carry trays and grasp items
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical demands of the job
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to multitask
- Highly organized
- Ability to handle stressful customer situations with tact and understanding
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar position of 3 months or longer
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles, food server function and restaurant and kitchen operations
- Knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer printouts and written instructions
- Manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items, and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and follow verbal and written instructions
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to use tact and understanding in customer service situations
Job Duties
- Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers, serving the orders and accommodating special needs requests
- Remain attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards at all times
- Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework as instructed
- Memorize menu items, recipes and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations
- Maintain cleanliness standards in restaurant, waitstation and kitchen service area to satisfy health requirements
- Control allocated guest checks by following check-use procedures and documenting all required information
- Receive proper payment from guest and ensure accuracy of guest check and method of payment
- Attend pre-meal and departmental meetings in person to enhance communications and gain knowledge
- Respond to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone by providing timely and knowledgeable information
- Present a clean and professional appearance at all times
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
