Job Description

The Server Captain role at Amelia Gene's is a pivotal position focused on leadership and support within the service team. This is an hourly, non-exempt role designed to be a senior server position that helps uphold service excellence during all shifts without involving formal managerial responsibilities such as scheduling or hiring. Job Duties

  • Lead by example in service standards, guest engagement, professionalism, and teamwork during all shifts
  • Provide on-the-floor support to servers, server assistants, and bartenders to ensure smooth service flow
  • Assist with the execution of pre-shift meetings when requested by management, sharing best practices, service tips, or wine/cocktail knowledge
  • Serve as a resource for new team members during onboarding and training shifts, offering mentorship and guidance
  • Communicate real-time feedback to management regarding service flow, guest needs, or operational challenges during shifts
  • Support service for VIP guests, large parties, or other special assignments as directed
  • Maintain full menu, wine, and cocktail knowledge to assist guests and support the team
  • Uphold Amelia Gene's brand standards and service values at all times
  • Meet weekly with the General Manager to discuss service performance, areas for improvement, and team needs
