The role of Server - Back Server at Auberge du Soleil is pivotal within the restaurant dining team. This position involves facilitating a seamless and exceptional dining experience where back servers support lead servers and captains during busy lunch and dinner services. Back Servers play an integral role by managing orders, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring smooth communication between the kitchen and the dining area. They are thoroughly trained in the property’s food, beverage programs, and service standards to uphold the venue's reputation for excellence.

In this role, the individual will work closely with the F&B management team to deliver heartfelt, high-quality service that aligns with Auberge du Soleil’s luxury standards. Responsibilities include taking and processing orders accurately, maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment and service spaces, complying with food safety and handling procedures, and suggesting unique menu items to enhance the guest experience. The position demands strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to perform efficiently under pressure.

Starting pay for the Server - Back Server position is between $16.90 and $17.90 per hour, plus tips, with pay decisions based on experience and education. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of one year experience in the foodservice/hospitality industry
  • Good knowledge of food and wine
  • Superior professional appearance and manner
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications such as food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications as applicable to the position
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management qualities
  • Must possess a strong interest in learning about food, wine and cocktails
  • Customer service oriented attitude with strong hospitality skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Confidence and ability to perform under pressure
  • Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours and be able to lift up, push, and pull at least 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Facilitate the guest dining experience by taking orders, anticipating needs, and delivering all items efficiently
  • Relate with guests to ensure satisfaction with beverages and meals, maintaining a consistently heartfelt and high-quality service
  • Comply with Auberge Collection standards and make thoughtful suggestions for upselling unique menu items
  • Accurately and quickly take and place orders, input them into the POS system, and handle billing
  • Operate, maintain, and clean restaurant equipment and fittings
  • Ensure the restaurant/outlets are tidy, organized, and follow safe food handling procedures
