Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have and maintain a valid Washington State MAST Permit
- Must have and maintain a valid Washington State Food Handling Permit
- Willingness to handle and serve all varieties of food including poultry, pork, beef and dairy
- Willingness to handle and serve alcohol
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Walks and stands during entire shift
- Lifts and transports up to 30 lbs
- Mandatory off the clock 30 min break when working 5 hours or more
- Always on time and ready to perform all required duties
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have and maintain a valid Washington State MAST Permit
- Must have and maintain a valid Washington State Food Handling Permit
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, event-driven environment
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Possess valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit as required by state and federal regulations
Job Duties
- Responsible for set up and upkeep of buffet during catering events
- Ability to interact with guests and direct them to buffet and answer questions pertaining to the menu
- Maintains proper presentation and sanitation standards in all catering spaces
- Assists in setting up banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- Takes food and beverages orders in an efficient manner following established steps of service
- Delivers food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- Advises guests on menu items and ingredients and accommodates reasonable requests
- Communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly
- Collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
- Promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
- Addresses complaints promptly and relays relevant information to supervisor
- Operates various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
- Works with staff of other departments during special events and functions
- Performs other duties as assigned
